Senior Fund Accountant

The Fund Accounting Team is a division within the finance department of the Company and assists in offering a one-stop-shop solution to international fund managers. Joined with a group of highly proficient qualified accountants, they provide a comprehensive range of fund administration, accounting, management reporting and taxation compliance services to the fund managers of the MIT funds. The team helps the asset managers and trustee operations team to stay on top of their asset management obligation, trust operation compliance and investment reporting obligations to international and national investors and bankers.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintenance of accounting records at the fund level including calculation of management fees and operation expense accruals;
  • Assist the Manager with the  mentoring  and training junior staff
  • Ensure all client deliverables are in line with service level agreements
  • Preparation of periodical management reporting packs,
  • Preparation of General Purpose Annual Report
  • Address complex issues, ad hoc projects & process improvements
  • Ensure you and your team adhere to organisational operation risk and compliance policies

About you

Key requirements:

  • 5-10 years of general accounting experience
  • Team leadership experience
  • Relevant qualifications in accounting and/or finance (CPA/CA qualified or willingness to study CPA/CA preferred)
  • With relevant experience in management, statutory & tax reporting – Eg BAS, financial statements and tax calculations
  • Experience in accounting for property funds
  • Understanding of MIT and AMIT structures and related tax calculations
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Be able to demonstrate process improvements – questioning not accepting
  • Effective stake holder management
  • A team player and also able to work independently
  • Hold appropriate Australian work visa
