Funds Management Lawyer

This is a growth role and will see you working closely with the owners and senior managers of one of Australia’s fastest growing funds management businesses.

The role calls for a specialist funds management lawyer with between 2-4 years  PQE. It reports to Director, Legal and Compliance and works closely with senior management in the business.

You will be called upon to contribute practical, commercially astute and accurate legal advice to enhance the business and ensure compliance with the regulatory framework.

To meet the high standards of the organisation, the ideal candidate will be proactive, “can do” and innovative. Juggling priorities, working collaboratively with your business colleagues and other lawyers and keeping cool under pressure are important attributes.

This role will see you advising on the structuring, establishment and promotion of listed and unlisted funds in relation to capital raisings and fund restructures. You will also provide advice to foreign and domestic institutional investors on their participation in a range of collective investment schemes and investment arrangements as well as custody, investment management and similar arrangements.

You will also provide advice on financial services regulatory matters including financial services licensing, marketing and distribution of financial products.

  • Ability to work independently, on their own initiative and under pressure
  • Able to demonstrate an analytical approach yet provide practical solutions to the business
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • The ability to pay strong attention to detail, business acumen and sound judgment

About you:

  • 2-4 years PQE
  • Strong academic background with funds experience and good general corporate experience from a top-tier international law firm or funds management business
  • A solid understanding of the financial services environment including the relevant regulatory and compliance framework
  • Being qualified in Australia
  • Having strong drafting skills, attention to detail and team orientated
  • Mandarin speakers considered favourably

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
